Thursday on hubbys' next day off we are taking the boat out to where we have it moored for the summer. It will stay there until the end of October. The weather that day says 69 and cloudy, so will bring sweaters and throw blankets and a pot of hot coffee.
Hubby is watching for a cheap gas car to come into the yard. He manages a wrecking yard. He's always worked at these types of places. He has a natural talent of knowing cars. Only once in 36years of marriage have we ever had a car with payments from a car lot and that was over 20 years ago. People get rid of their cars alot and sometimes the work they need to fix them are small, but they get rid of them and buy something else. Their lost, our gain. Another good place to find cars is Craigs list, but make sure some one with car knowledge helps you out because cheaters sell cars too.
If the car is low enough I can pull up to the door in my wheelchair, stand enough to pivot into the seat. Hubby then can dismantle my chair and put it in the trunk. We've done this in my sons' car. We want a cheaper car for running around since gas is so high and our van doesn't get great miles per tank. Then we can use the van for camping (it has a fold down bed) only. So fingers crossed.
My flowers and vegies are still growing. We could use more sun. Not that I want higher temps, just less clouds, but then this is normal for the part of Oregon I live in.
My favorite cousin Janie died last Friday. I am glad we had a loving relationship and hugh memories, but still I will miss her greatly. She was only 4 years older then me and her passing has made me think alot about my own mortality. As I get older and with dealing with my disability, I am thankful for each new day.
Chores are calling and dinner needs to be planned and I'm trying to make myself tackle 1 ugly extra chore a day which is hard for me as I hate all chores.
