Yesterday watching hubby mowing and weed whacking, prompted me to venture out to the deck and take care of my flowers my son bought me for Mother's Day and that my daughter planted in the pots for me when I was sick. I was disappointed that doing this small amount of work of picking off dead blooms put such a strain on the shingle area. I wanted to cry and quit but if I didn't try it wouldn't get done and it wouldn't look pretty or be enjoyable. Oh I could of whined to hubby and he would of done it, which would put him behind when he was already on his own roll, so I didn't, I just moved slow, resting and finally finish the planted pots, ignoring the flat of flowers still needing planted. My daughter and family will be over tomorrow for a BBQ............YEA.......so I'll ask her.....she's a good daughter. I still need a cherry tomato plant for me and the grand kids......hubby is going to plant in his garden where his artichokes and rhubarb are thriving, some pumpkins for the grand kids, zucchini for me and some acorn squash which grew great last year and watermelon. Not a big garden but enough. I watered my flowers, as hubby has set a hose for me to use easily, he finished weed whacking.........and then it started thundering and raining.......but it looks good and tomorrow is suppose to be nice which will be great for the BBQ and the grand kids. Now to think about some sort of a/c for the house. Can't afford central air.......have the wrong kind of windows for a a/c unit. I'm sure hubby will figure out something. Maybe it's cause I'm older now, but I don't like the heat of summer........we generally only see high 80's.......a few 90's and a couple of 100's.....but keeping wet and not leaving the swamp cooler makes for a long day(s).
Remember our troops tomorrow.....hope it's a great day.
