I'm thinking about boating and fishing since we've had a few cold but sunny days lately.....I mention before that we have a pontoon boat because being in a power chair and unable to stand I can no longer step down or step up out of a regular boat. I mention how my hubby built a little portable ramp that fits from the dock into the boat. The boat has three little doors that open for this to be achieved. This boat also has a long couch that I can transfer too. It gets me out of the chair, has plenty of room to lay down if I choose. It's easy to fish from too. Under the seat a blanket is kept for those cold times and a bed pan because it saves going to the dock where the handicap bathroom is that IS NOT access able unless you don't mind using the facilities with half your chair out side the door as it does not fit. I am modest and unless one of the female family go with me to prevent strangers from coming in....I just avoid it. When the need arises there are plenty secluded spots one can have privacy if needed.I can no longer bait my hook, string lines or remove my catch. Due to my disability my fingers work independently from each other instead of together plus with the numbness they can't feel what to hold. I don't miss that part anyway. My hubby prefers to cast for me as casting from a sitting position isn't the easiest task for me but I try when he's far a way from me....he's caught a hook before. I love fishing and boating and am fortunate to have a great hubby who helps me with adjustments.
It's all good.
