Random musing

We finally found for $35.00 off Craigs' list a sleeper sofa. My sons brought it over and it turned out to be a VERY nice clean couch. Hubby wanted a couch to stretch out on when watching tv, plus we wanted a sleeper for when the grandkids slept over. Much easier then dragging the mattress from the spare room and flopping on the living room floor while they watched movies. Added bonus we can make up the bed which stores the extra blankets.......all good.....one less thing to do.
Looking at and planning our Thanksgiving meal. Just three of us this year. We usually alter with my son but this year they invited several friend to an already small house and my daughter and her boyfriend want to cook their own meal and a small apartment doesn't hold many......so this year we are all doing our own with my youngest single son joining us. Hubby was sad about all this, he being the "Turkey baking guy" a small turkey now verses the hugh turkeys of past...I reminded him he has had 30 some years of doing and that times change. He said he wasn't ready for change......poor sentimental guy.
We do understand our grown children want plans of their own....and our not excepting is our choice........we could go to either one of these gatherings.....and not be happy.....or forge on with new traditions...he's sad as I am a bit also....watching your children flying happily from the nest.......a parents goal......still does a heart tug. After dinner would be the offical start of the Christmas Season.....with the watching of Christmas movies......a tradition my youngest started years ago........this year the three of us will fill our tv trays with as much eats as we can......settle in front of the big screen projector.....watching out traditional season movies.......sounds good to me........it's all good.
